fall's update
i curse hamburg for its perpetual rain and persistent cloudy grey sky. i abhor grey. it makes me aggressive. sick. in fact, i shouldn't waste my time permanently complaining about the climate conditions in this part of the world, i should try not to pay attention to it, but i just can't help it. since we came back from our hot vacation in the states mid july (i'm so nostalgic about these outstanding 40° c), we have been desperately seeking for heat and sunshine which, granted, honored us by appearing over the region for some beautiful days but it was far away from what is to be understood as "summer". and here we are – in the middle of the autumn, all naked trees around, high fog, drizzle and temperatures droping… daylight saving time just ended. horror. winter time. our flights to florida are already booked, we take off on feb 28th, 2013 – blue sky, sea, beach in sight, perfect to switch bad thoughts.
so, what have we been doing since my last post two months ago? (just in case that might be interesting for the rwo.)
end of august, we escaped from hamburg's anti-summer and immersed in the heat of the colorful and well-smelling provence. we enjoyed one week of pure nature in two of our favorite places in france, first in trigance, a little dead, so silent and beautiful village hanging on a mountain in the region of the canyon of the verdon – which became so piddly to us compared to the geogeous scenery in utah some weeks ago – and then in saintes-maries-de-la-mer on the mediterranean coast in the camargue. we've tortured our poor legs during hikes up and down in the mountains around the canyon, we've fought on the bikes against the mistral, the strong north wind of the provence and have enjoyed delicious food & wines. it was fun and energizing.
a couple of days after, armin went on a two weeks business trip in bejing, china. a very bad trip for myself. apart from that, we have been working a lot, and we still do. but we're having a lot of good times with our friends too, enjoying nice food and wines.
well. and here i am today, sitting on the coach with my iPad, waiting for a call from my service provider to pick up my iMac which is taking part of an Apple's hdd replacement program... it drives me nuts!!!
